Our gratitude goes out to all of our early supporters whose kindness and generosity is remarkable.
On February 23, 2009 and August 15, 2009 we achieved our first two milestone of raising $100,000 for research! This means you've helped us raise over $200,000 in less than one year!!! (see progress meters below)
The first grant award process will be overseen by NORD (National Organization for Rare Disorders) while we assemble our Medical Advisory Group and learn the grant administration process more fully.
NORD issued the RFP (Request for Proposal) on March 9, 2009. Read the RFP here: PMP Research RFP
$100,000 in grants are to be awarded in November, 2009. We'll update as soon as we know more.
In the meantime, please help us continue building our funding so that soon we will have answers to prolong the lives of people afflicted with PMP -and eventually find a cure!
Just think: Later this year, we will begin benefiting from the first publicly funded research for PMP. Let's hope and pray the grant(s) awarded yield great results for those of us managing this disease now - and in the future.
