Pseudomyxoma Peritonei (PMP), pronounced SOO-doh-mix-OH-muh PAYR-ih-TOH-nee-I, is a rare condition characterized by the presence of mucin-producing tumors (and the mucin) in the abdominal cavity. There are a number of possible origins of PMP, but the most common source is appendiceal (appendix) cancer.
